Stevens Center Notes

  • Mic plates located backstage and in the balcony could have some lines re-terminated as return lines (male XLR).
  • The impedance of the speaker lines should be checked, because loudspeakers don't get enough level from the amps in the booth. Perhaps it is necessary to move the amp rack closer to the stage to make the cable run shorter, or maybe the cable is not adequate.
  • More clear-com lines are needed on the SL wall and the mid-rails.
  • It would be good to have more than 2 mic lines in the orchestra pit, plus the only 2 mic lines have problems with phantom power.
  • There needs to be an easier way to get mic lines to the organ base.
  • The speaker truss needs to come back, but first the steel must be assessed to find out if it can hold the truss.
  • The center cluster appears to be working properly; it is the amps (crown k2) that seem to be blown. The cluster looks like it is not well maintained. Getting a new center cluster is recommended. A new cluster would eliminate the need to the Eons on the sides.
  • More clear-com lines are needed in the house in order to set up the base station without running a snake from SR.
  • An XLR patch bay is recommended. The theatre needs to have XLR - Military adapters to connect XLR equipment to the military patch bay. The splitters in the patch bay don't split. The current patch bay doesn't use the entire console and is not labeled properly.
  • It would be good to change the clear-com plate in the sound booth to the side where console is.
  • It would be beneficial to install a panel with monitor lines in the lighting/SM booth.
  • There needs to be easier access to the lines from the booth in the FOH position (on the side).
  • Isolated power outlets should be labeled orange all over the theatre.
  • The monitors in the spot booth don't generate enough level.
